Most of us are familiar with the digestive system, at least to a certain extent. Did you realize, however, that one of the first signs that a physician is going to look at whenever we have a problem with depression is if our digestive system is working properly or not? As a matter of fact, a case of constipation can often cause depression that is rather severe. The real problem, however, lies in the colon more than in the entire digestive tract. Why is that the case?
The colon is responsible for passing our digested food out of the body and is the last track that processed food goes through before exiting us. Unfortunately, it is also where many of the diseases in the body get their start. If we do not take care of our digestive health from a young age, it may eventually catch up to us and cause a number of different physical problems that can actually be deadly. It is important for you to realize this because not only can the colon cause physical problems in us but it may also cause mental problems as well.
If you tend to have digestive problems on a regular basis, you should make sure that you are treating your colon properly by giving your body all of the fiber that it needs. You should also make sure that you’re hydrating your body on a regular basis by drinking half of your body weight every day in ounces of water. A combination of these two things can do wonders in helping you to overcome any digestive problems that you may be experiencing. What is the best way for you to get this fiber naturally?
It is always a better idea for you to get fiber from the foods that you eat rather than trying to get it in a pill form or perhaps in a formula that is mixed with water. It can be difficult to eat that much fiber during the day, however, so I often recommend that you mix your greens in with some fruit and make a smoothie. Drinking a smoothie that is two pieces of fruit and a large handful of greens on a daily basis can do wonders for your digestive health. Once you get that part of your body under control, you often find that your mood lifts considerably.
